  • We'll be back in 2 weeks to share how our projects are going and if we have stARTed even more projects.

Suzie's stART Update

Flattened Fork Pendant

Over the last week I did a post on my flattened fork pendant.

I recorded my Beadaholique Mystery Box Reveal.

I made and edited down a simplified version of a brain slug deconstruction video. It taught me a lot, including rethinking making my spatz video. Still not sure about that one.

Then I wanted to make Jamie and Shannon a basic photo editing tutorial and didn't realize it would not record sound. Ugh! So I turned it into a food photography editing tutorial instead that many people could watch.

I felt much more comfortable doing this sort of video. Why? Number 1: I wasn't on camera. Number 2: I really know a lot about this subject and feel confident talking about it. Interesting...

I guess video is really on my mind and creative agenda because I also did a vlog this week. I am most self-conscious in some ways doing these, never knowing if people really enjoy them or not. I do like doing them but when it is just me, it makes me nervous. But that can be a good thing.

I am still not sure I feel comfortable enough doing a video really talking about patterns so I might just finish my spat on my own so I can start wearing them. I have been trying to crochet for a couple of days now and I keep screwing up the very basics so my confidence level is not very high.

That's my update!

Ep 4: Podast Version

  • In episode 4 of stART Jamie, Suzie and Shannon share updates on their creative projects, what's musing on our minds and a few challenges along the way; and of course new projects on the horizon. We share a fair amount visually this week as we all have crochet or knitting projects on the go, as well as other fun visual to boot.

Creative Update: Shannon's 31 Days of Horror

Now that October is complete I've doing a wrap up vlog (see below) for the 31 Days of Horror looking back at the challenge and what I learned along the way, if I would do it again as well as the individual films and if they met, exceeded or fell under my expectations.  I wrote a post here where you can see the complete list of films with links to the individual vlogs.  I didn't see 31 films, but I had a great time and learned that I certainly have Halloween faves and they were worth breaking the rules of the challenge to fit them into the month of fun.

Episode 3: Halloween Edition (video version)

On this episode the sisters (aka Jamie the Jester, Suzie the Foodie with her toad friend and Shannon the Pumpkin) share updates on their creative projects, a few challenges and new projects on the horizon - and all in costume! We *love* Halloween! And we highly recommend watching the vids week as not only are we in costume, we also do a lot of visual sharing (and gags) as well. We also start looking even a little bit to the year ahead.  In Part I, we share our take on Halloween and how it inspires our creativity.

In Part II, each of us sisters share developments in our creative homework.

In Part III we talk about creative challenges, Shannon shares her explorations in colour and Jamie makes her next creative commitments.

In Part IV we each share what we'll be creating and focusing on next (and laugh uncontrollably over purtles and tumpkins)
